@nqatpod “How did City come to believe they weren’t?” - they didn’t/don’t, they knew it was wrong, they knew it was cheating, they knew they would be punished if found out. They did it anyway.
@FT_Durk “Manchester City is bigger than the Premier League” - exactly the mindset that has led us to this point. The club, its owners and fans need to learn a hard lesson.
If this were United I’d be ashamed & accept - in fact, encourage - whatever punishments were felt to be appropriate, not be constructing narratives to excuse or dismiss the verdict on the #115charges
When #ManchesterUnited were pushing for the Super League, I was appalled & was considering whether I would continue to support them before they backed down due to fan backlash.
Why is it that there appear to be zero #ManCity fans appalled by their club’s cheating willing to actually criticise their club/ consider withdrawing their support?
@XolidCity When you’re found guilty of murder, you go to prison until you’ve had your appeal - this is because you are guilty until you are able to successfully argue/prove this finding to be in error.
@thecitydefender Depends what you mean by “bigger” - you’re conflating success with size
Nobody can argue City haven’t been more successful for ~2 decades, but I would suggest United have both a bigger following (England & Worldwide) & still garner more media attention
@UTDTRUT Note the ref’s fault - he gave offside. VAR didn’t invite him to go to the monitor and just overruled his onfield decision. It’s VAR that’s sold him up the river.
