Thread. As a lifelong pet parent, I know too well the loss of a furbaby, and, too, the hard choices of pet palliative care. And, unfortunately, I also know the insensitive impatience of those who have not experienced a deep, familial connection with nonhuman species.

@WWLP22News I am very much in favor of making sure employer-provided benefits are extended as needed for extenuating circumstances, but I’ve never heard of such a one-person law before. Would it be applicable to other people in similar circumstances? I wish Trooper McRae a full recovery! ❤️‍🩹

@SachemHead That’s how Sean and I connected and fell in love during a European “tour” through our university. During “on our own” time, everyone else took taxis to tourist traps. We walked and meandered. Ex: They had $50 burgers at Hard Rock; we had exquisite local cuisine for under $20. 💖

I always assumed the human passenger had to be of driving age, preferably also licensed, and kids didn’t count. Ride sharing with other families is common, though. Do underaged human passengers count for the HOV lane? Thanks.

@GHMansfield 2) Any assistive device is part of someone’s body, including a wheelchair. 3) Offers of assistance can and should include clearing the way, holding doors, reaching/handing things. 1!) No means no!

@_Judy_Bennett Excellent point. I humbly suggest the word “just” (which frequently follows “should”) can also be painfully damaging when it implies a simplicity or ease of a task or situation, discounting any and all difficulties and discomforts the admonished listener may have.
