Ngorongoro Maasai Protest Forced Eviction for UAE Royal Hunting Concession

Maasai communities in Ngorongoro in the eastern Serengeti Plains in northeastern Tanzania take to the streets to protest recent forced and violent evictions orchestrated by President Samia Suluhu's government.

The evictions are reportedly being carried out to clear ancestral lands for a hunting and wildlife concession intended for the UAE royal family.

The Maasai who have long inhabited these lands are decrying the move as a form of dictatorship and a severe infringement on their traditional rights.
