At the beginning of this year, I had some sleepless nights as we worked to put in place the building blocks for some big projects, which meant we didn’t publish as much as we’d have liked to.
By the end of December, we had shot the lights out in a number of ways.
Humbled by all the messages we’ve received since we launched our documentary on the NPA on Sunday.

This was out of our comfort zone - at @amaBhungane we normally do our digging behind the scenes, not in front of the cameras.
Here’s why we did it🧵
Critics argue that the failures in addressing state capture signal a deeper systemic crisis, a concern shared by amaBhungane. Batohi’s former deputy, Hermione Cronje, could no longer stay silent. See more here: https://t.co/EpvUBG20S0

@AmandaBRinquest I was shocked at the really positive reception he got at Ellis Park on Saturday. Ellis Park. Loudly cheering for a government official. Who is not white. I was scared at what it meant for populism here.

Treasury has released a statement “correcting misleading” reports about the IEC’s budget cuts that are said to have contributed to yesterday’s challenges.
NT says it reversed the R250m reduction, allowed IEC to retain R1.5bn surplus and provided an extra R350m for security.
How people are kicking the IEC when it had to pull this off after having some R500 million cut from its budget, while trying to implement what was a practically a whole new voting system, and analysts absolutely got the predictions on turnout wrong, is upsetting me.
@PPFIdeas I'm so enjoying this series, thank you! I wondered if you have a preferred translation - I'd to get it for my dad and me to read and then discuss our own intergenerational political disagreements!
We often are told that jobs give people dignity...nothing gives people more dignity than shelter and food.
This is a hill I am literally willing to die on: people should have shelter and food regardless of whether we have jobs.
This list of potential cabinet members is a taste of what the Mooshot pact would look like in government.
I want us all the visualize it before deciding what to do with our votes.
