📍Hasakah | Massive media disinformation about the real demographics of the city and northeast Syria in general.

Despite repeated propaganda claims, the Kurdish population in the city of Hasakah does NOT exceed approximately 20%. Yet PKK-linked militias are attempting to impose a so-called “self-administration” over a city with an overwhelming Arab majority — a blatant distortion of demographic reality and a dangerous attempt to reshape the political and social landscape by force.

This manipulation of facts aims to mislead international audiences, fabricate a false narrative of representation, and legitimize control over communities that do not reflect the city’s true demographic composition. Such practices threaten social cohesion, deepen ethnic tensions, and undermine any prospects for long-term stability and coexistence.

The current demographic map of Hasakah clearly reflects the following distribution:
