This year @CollingwoodHosp, the #ThreeSohails (myself, Physician assistant Ms. Sohail, and Dr. Sohail Sardar) are working the next couple of days so some of our colleagues get a break. Wishing you #MerryChristmas from #TeamMuslim

Many non-Indigenous people will be acknowledging Orange Shirt Day for the first time this year.
So I wanted to share a few important points / thoughts:
Someone asked me today: what went wrong with Alberta's system of government that led to this catastrophe?
My answer: all democratic institutions rely on elected leaders to identify, agree upon, and pursue the common good. #ableg (Thread/rant)
Plenty of people asking, "what can I do to put a halt to this COVID policy change." I understand the helplessness, but there are actually things you can do to make a difference. (Thread)
Canadians are so committed to reconciliation, so invested in the idea of Canada as the most tolerant and compassionate place on the planet, that they, *checks notes*, can't not blow up some fireworks and flag wave obnoxiously while many Indigenous peoples are in mourning?

HOUSING IS HEALTH CARE. Such an important piece by @cfrangou
"COVID-19 selects without socioeconomic discrimination. But the tools for protection are not equally distributed" (reminder: @sprawlcalgary is a reader-supported independent journalism outlet!) https://t.co/FntNKFzzpZ
@CircularLogic89@RogersHelps Yes, but we are still going to have to use it because of this unique situation. I’m just saying it’s unfair not to give a discount to people who are just as affected. We were able to get through to a rep a min ago and they were very helpful & did give us a discount.
@RogersHelps Not extending this to apply to rural customers who literally cannot access fibre service is discriminatory and unfair. Please reconsider your policy.
@RogersHelps It hasn’t been applied to rural users like my parents, who can only get internet services through hub/satellite. I’m a uni student who now needs to do classes online& will result in us going over our data limit - can you please waive this for rural customers too??
@Rogers Why does this not cover my parents’ rural hub service? I’m needing to be home and do my university classes online and our data will still be limited? How is this fair to your rural customers? Please consider extending this to all limited home internet plans.
While we are necessarily promoting social distancing during #COVID19 this really means physical distancing. We have to nurture community & social connection to support neighbours. We are practicing prudent physical constraints to connection, while encouraging community connection
Things Covid has proven:
1. The job you were told couldn't be done remotely can be done remotely
2. Many disabled workers could have been working from home, but corporations just didnt want them to.
3. Internet is a utility, not a luxury
4. Universal healthcare is necessary
@KathleenGanley What about people outside of Calgary who will be directly negatively impacted by Springbank Dam? Other options like Maclean Creek should be fully considered (not rejected by a single overdramatic report). Really disappointed by NDP on this
