Just because the old management was a minute away from doing something dumb, doesn’t mean the new management will also do that same dumb thing (ideally anyway)
“We call it the ‘P-word’ now,” she said, referring to faculty’s hesitation to discuss Palestine amid a repressive climate on US college campuses. “There is no tolerance for the very word.”

Trump: If I did meet with the new Ayatollah, I would be honored to meet him.
Doocy: Do you think because Epic Fury killed his killed his dad and his wife and his kid that he's has hard feelings?
Trump: I would say I'm not his favorite person, but with that being said, he's probably a pro—I don't know him—he's probably a professional in some circles, he has a very good reputation actually, you know, sometimes when people say bad, but a lot of people say bad about me . It's totally false, of course.
Muslim Canadians in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area earn less and face greater unemployment and poverty compared to non-Muslims despite higher education levels, gaps that a new report suggests are rooted in systemic racism and Islamophobia.
"The truth is, in 2026, Islamophobia is considered acceptable in many societies around the world, including our own. That needs to change, and the change begins with each of us."
This is such a bizarre article and is not fair to this surgeon.
Dr. Moss declined to give this journalist a reason why he’s leaving. He has in the past raised serious concerned about under resourcing of the health system and the ability to do his job.
The article says an anonymous source claims Dr. Moss was particularly offended by the hanging effigy of Ben-Gvir mere days ago. It takes much longer than that to arrange an international career move, and it is not fair to him to associate him with support of terrorist Ben-Gvir without proof.

“Reached by phone, Moss declined to give an interview or to explain his reasons for leaving Montreal…
At the same time, Moss has grown frustrated with the limited resources for patients in desperate need of heart surgery in Quebec. In fact, in April, Moss sounded the alarm about a shortage of perfusionists at the Jewish General, warning that the lack of technicians running heart-lung machines was placing the cardiac surgery program in jeopardy.”
Yesterday, the Prime Minister launched Canada’s new Ministerial Advisory Council on Rights, Equality, and Inclusion as a response to combat rising hate.
Canada is the leading G-7 country when it comes to Islamophobia motivated murders in the past decade. No other minority religious community in Canada has faced this kind of hate motivated murder in recent memory. Tackling such a problem means taking on hate across the board and working with all communities to build a real plan forward, including on the crisis of Islamophobia.
We will be watching the developments of this council carefully in hopes that it will meet its mandate to tackle all forms of hate, including rightfully standing up for Black, Muslim, Jewish, Indigenous, and Sikh communities, amongst many others.
Our community still heals from the cost of hate.
On June 6th, we will mark the 5th anniversary of the terrorist killing of three generations of a Muslim family in London, Ontario. Every year on January 29th, we also commemorate the 6 Muslim men murdered in the Quebec City Mosque.
We are constantly reminded of these incidents, as hatred targeting our community continues to intensify across the country.
Even as the Prime Minister was speaking, our staff was speaking to Hamilton police about a school bus that serviced an Islamic school in Hamilton that was attacked and vandalized with Islamophobic graffiti.
Hate of all forms, including anti-semitism and Islamophobia, must be tackled. We will continue to call for the protection of all communities. We look forward to sitting down with members of this council to ensure our community’s concerns are acted upon.
Sam Panopoulos was the first person to put pineapple on pizza, inventing the Hawaiian pizza, at his Chatham, Ontario restaurant in 1962. Should he have?
Not at all surprised this happened. Both Trump and Netanyahu are hateful men, whose politics are based on hating other people and sowing that hate as a way to retain power. Eventually they will turn on each other. Which is what hate does. Toronto Sun https://t.co/B1vp2jRqh4
#HamOnt I am deeply disturbed by reports of damage and vandalism, including Islamophobic graffiti, on a school bus serving students at an Islamic school in Hamilton.
Let me be absolutely clear: there is no place for hate in Hamilton - none. Targeting children, families, or any member of our community because of their faith, identity, or background is reprehensible, cowardly, and completely unacceptable. These hateful acts strike at the values of inclusion, respect, and safety that define our city, and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms.
My office is in contact with the school and the Hamilton Police Service and will continue to receive updates as the investigation progresses.
Hamilton is a city that stands firmly against all forms of hate and discrimination. Every child deserves to travel to and from school safely. Every resident deserves to live free from fear and intimidation.
We stand united as a community. I unequivocally condemn this act and reaffirm that there is zero tolerance for hate in Hamilton.
