It is potentially confusing that I now reference events in (recent) history on a BC/AC (before covid/after covid) framework, but I kinda love the feeling of confusing others via my own personal vernacular
@mrseanmdonovan I’ve been seeing the promos for this for a couple weeks now (cause I apparently watch syfy channel a lot…?) but it’s brightened my day each time :)
“But people living in bigger bodies don’t automatically experience limitations as a direct consequence of their weight. They are more vulnerable to Covid-19 for a different reason: stigma. And we should be clear that this is what we’re vaccinating against.”
There is no question that weight and health interact in many complex ways. But it’s also clear that the stigma fat people experience when they seek health care plays a significant role in their health outcomes.

@Cathriona69@MMsina As an American who lived in Ireland for a spell, I can attest that Irish culture is superior to American culture in terms of neighborly hospitality (it’s superior in many other ways too) 😊💚
