At the 4th of July Event on the Esplanade, Boston EMS transported 12 patients. 34 of the 108 patient contacts were associated with heat/dehydration.

Knowing the signs of heat-related illness can save a life. Heavy sweating, dizziness, nausea, cool or clammy skin, and muscle cramps are all early warning signs that your body is struggling with the heat. If symptoms don't improve or they become more severe, seek medical care.
