I just learned about the flipped classroom concept and I absolutley love it! I'll definelty keep it in mind when I get my own classroom. I also made a poster on @canva talking about the main points. #edchat#im422
@SheaGarlock i liked the point in the article that said teacher development is ongoing. learning doesn’t end when we graduate and it’s up to us as teachers to make sure we keep learning to best help our students! #im422
@deutz_thalia i also want to get a doctorate! i think it would be beneficial to my development and has also always been a personal goal of mine. #im422
one last way that i’ve learned to develop professionally on my own is to read! i’ve been reading articles about education, books about my subject area, and other materials about social justice and how that works in school. they’ve really helped me grow and develop! #im422
using twitter for #im422 has really helped me see how social media can help professional development. i’ve connected with a lot of awesome educators on here and they’ve helped me learn more about teaching!
one part of professional development that i want to achieve is to get my doctorate degree. not only would that be beneficial to my teaching, but i also really want to wear the fancy cap and gown! #im422
@deutz_thalia thanks for this website! i hadn’t heard of many of those links, but they seemed really cool! i’d have to do more research on them before using them to make sure they checked out privacy wise, but i think they could be great!
@CharlesTMinor @000Dave i love this chart as well! i think it’s great because it gives hard data in a way that’s useful and easily understood. i’ve used this chart a few times in my lesson plans.
this is a great article that gives different tools for all aspects of teaching. as a future history teacher, i really like the myHistro tool that helps students make timelines. #IM422 https://t.co/HYjdawFHVY
another tool that can be used for teaching is kahoot. students get very competitive and interested in the lesson and that helps to motivate them to learn the material. #im422
one classroom tool that i have seen utilized really well is edpuzzle! it’s a site where students work through ed pieces and do interactive components as well. it’s useful as a work day activity. #im422
@Gabbynelson28 this is a great resource, thank you for sharing! student privacy is such an important issue and I definitely need all the help I can get to make sure I'm doing everything right. #im422
@MarkJWestpfahl I think that's a great idea! as a student myself, I know how much I value relaxing spaces like that and how much it impacts my learning/productivity. definitely something I'll remember for my future classroom! #im422
https://t.co/JYiOeNdg3A this is a great article that talks about how the pandemic has affected student privacy, and how people are working to protect students. I thought it was a really interesting take on current events and how that affects education. #im422
https://t.co/8kVDbjLpTN common sense education has a great privacy program that has evaluated many websites/apps for their privacy ratings. as a teacher, I will be sure to use this tool to help me see which apps are safe for my students to use #im422
