Fake news ( if you call the piece news) that we are in discussions to sell the LA Times. Completely fabricated. We are committed to grow this most important newspaper on the West Coast and the journalistic need to speak truth to power.
Yesterday I was given a layoff notice at the LATimes. I’ve given my heart and soul to the company. I’ve given nights and weekends away from home for the work. I’ve given a lot more than any "job" so it feels pretty dark. @latguild
"Asco Torn Apart" my 3rd print cover for the @latimes! I could not be more stoked on how this came together! Huge s/o to AD An Amlotte & @cmonstah for entrusting me w/ bringing this story to life visually!
Now, a quick BTS/making-of thread for you design nerds out there 🤓:

In my first personal essay for @latimes, I wrote about what it means to be Mexican American, but also Oaxacan. My mother’s hometown, nestled in the mountains of Oaxaca, has shaped my life much more than I ever realized.

@AdrianaHeldiz Honestly, I feel like whenever I visit your fine city I’m just going to Tacos El Gordo, Balboa Park and making ransom trips across the Coronado Bridge.
