My nephew, who is studying in his 2nd year of engineering (CS), called a while back to ask for help with applying for an internship. Along with the rest of the usuals, he asked to learn more about Git. I was a bit surprised - coming into 2nd year, students are still wary of using Git, and it's hurting them in internships and job offers.
I recommended him this beautiful guide from Beej.

And he called today to share his enthusiasm and admiration for it. So here it is again - for all those students and folks getting their hands on Git.
Computer Science with a Math Minor is still the best tech degree.
You can get Software Engineer jobs, Quant jobs (if cracked), Cybersecurity jobs, Embedded Software Engineering jobs, Data Engineering jobs, and IT jobs.
It's the most versatile tech degree.
At this point, 1984, The Truman Show, The Matrix, Soylent Green, Idiocracy, and They Live are starting to feel less like fiction and more like documentaries.
I want to personally sponsor 20 young farmers who want to do dry season Tomato farming this year.
1. Your land should be cleared and ready by September.
2. Your minimum land size should be 2 acres and maximum 20 acres.
3. The support will be input based. Tractor services, fertilizer, seeds, agricultural extension services, weeds and pests control, irrigation systems and ready market for the tomatoes.
This is a personal pilot project and hopefully we can collectively cultivate over 400 acres of tomatoes this year during the dry season. Together let’s make this work. #idey4u

The saddest thing about youth unemployment is that many young people did exactly what society told them to do: study, qualify, work hard. Yet opportunities remain out of reach.
Researchers found that D.C., Maryland, and Virginia are among the places where AI has some of the highest potential to either wipe out or transform jobs. In Maryland, researchers estimate nearly 40% of the workforce is in occupations where AI can do the job. D.C. ranks even higher, with more than 55% of workers in jobs threatened by AI.

No one wants to hear it but you will have to *work* on everything that is worth having in life.
Your career, your relationships, your health - whatever it is...
So if you don't want to work for it, be prepared to be very disappointed in the quality of everything you get.
I noticed something about environment. When you are surrounded by broke people, it starts to feel like everyone is struggling, like the economy is collapsing and no one has money, and even if you do, you start thinking you might lose it. When you are around entrepreneurs and people who are building things, it feels like money and opportunities are everywhere, even when you personally have less. Your environment shapes what you believe is possible.
