Krall quoting trading Lowe as the reason they were “able to” bring Hector to the big leagues is so hilarious given TJ Friedl and Noelvi Marte are still in the big leagues.
Since his promotion, the Reds are 445-481 (.480 winning percentage) under Krall’s leadership.
The Reds are 1623-1788 (.475) since the Castellinis took over in 2006.
But they are fine with this, hoping fans keep buying tickets regardless of how they perform.
Enough is enough.
Morning thoughts:
The irony of Nick Krall saying they couldn’t trade Singer, Stephenson, or Burke because it would put the team in a tough spot with the depth behind them is so thick you can touch it.
Self admitting how poor of a job they have done out loud to everyone.
Let's find a positive.
The Reds putting together the worst possible trade deadline as the Angels are getting their flowers may finally put the Reds front office in the crosshairs of the national media.
The idea of trading Hunter Greene is such a self own I can’t believe the Reds are even entertaining it but they are so fucking stupid that it isn’t surprising.
Trading Hunter Greene is admitting that you cannot build a winning team around Sal Stewart, Hunter Greene, Elly De La Cruz, Chase Burns, and Andrew Abbott while they make like a combined 25 million dollars.
It is telling the world that you fucking SUCK at your job.
In 2021, the Reds got 7.3 fWAR from their OF (thanks, Winker and Castellanos).
Since then, only four teams have a lower fWAR from their OF:
CIN (12.9)
PIT (11.9)
KC (11.2)
COL (6.1)
CHW (5.4)
Reds have just 0.2 fWAR from RF — SINCE 2022.
Complete failure by Nick Krall.
Matt McLain hasn’t done anything well on a baseball field except play good defense at 2nd base for the last 2 years.
So naturally, the Reds decide to start giving him reps in centerfield.
That’s what good franchises do.
The Reds could clean house from the top down, literally the entire front office, scouting, development, coaching staff, bat boys, you name it, gone, and I wouldn’t miss a singular person from that group.
It’s dire. 12 game win streak in 2023 is preventing overall record of this “core” from looking a lot worse. It’s super mid, as is. 77-83 win purgatory where you’re actually not worth a shit.
2 best players from this group are 2 freaks, in Elly & HG. They’ve had some other good “wins” with Abbott, Steer, Sal.
But other than that, it’s really just a bunch of mid. JJ Bleday came into this team and was immediately their 3-hole hitter. Their big FA signings have sucked. They only get value from cheap 1-year deal or minor league deals.
It’s exhausting. I can’t point to any legitimately GOOD parts of the Reds org.
Kylian Mbappé:
“Sports betting is destructive. It has ruined the lives of some people I know. That's why I refused to appear in sports betting advertisements. Many of us come from the suburbs, and it destroys the lives of countless people there.”
You’ve gotta get everyone out of this organization before they have a chance to make decisions about the futures of Elly De La Cruz, Hunter Greene, and Chase Burns in a #Reds uniform.
They’ve all had their chance and failed. Give the next regime a fair shot with legit pieces.
