Baseball is back this month!
I would love to take this occasion to share with you why baseball and Cerebral Palsy have a lot in common.
There are 3 things that stick out to me.
1. You have to experience failure so you can learn how to succeed. ( a .300 batting average is the “gold standard” for players, which means that they “fail” 7 of 10 times)
Same can be said for me when accomplishing daily tasks.
2. Everyone has their own way of doing things sometimes, unconventionally.
For example in baseball, let’s look at batting stances.
Some guys stand close to the plate, some guys stand back or further up in the box. Sometimes they change their approach depending on the day or situation. No one is exactly the same and your approach is what matters, not the way another person does it.
Same concept applies to me. I have to adjust based on the circumstances of the day and figure out what my body feels like, to put myself in the best position to succeed.
3. Nobody is going to do it for me. Yes, I have a skipper, in mom and dad, but it’s up to me to stand in my batters box and be prepared to handle whatever situation is thrown my way.
Thank you to the players and people who sacrifice so much, for me to have a blueprint to follow for conquering my challenges.
Let’s PLAY BALL
What people don’t realize is @MattressMack is likely going to make at least 20M either way - Astros win or lose. Genius hedge with Astros on great odds. Biggest day in Gallery Furniture history the day after Astros won 2022 ALCS.
My @LIVGolfInv take: Should have increased purses considerably and a winners take of 10M+ per week in lieu of huge bonuses. Can’t compare watching these guys compete for 18M and the nerves that go with it.
Everyone still mad about GoT S8, you know what, you’re right. You’re WAYYY smarter than everyone else and should have been consulted. B&W and GRRM gave us what they gave us. Sit down and shut up. #HouseOfTheDragonHBO
