@UrbanEastNash Additionally 7 min walk to a pharmacy/doctor’s office and 8 min bike ride to the grocery store. This is exactly the type of location that most would agree should have walkable density. It baffles me that our neighborhood doesn’t allow at a minimum quads on this corner lot.
Trends after a month cleaning this route-
About 25% of what I pick up seems to be from not bagging trash so stuff falls out of the cart. Most litter is fast food cups/alcohol. Side note: you should not throw diapers out the window. I have found a dirty diaper in the past 3 weeks
Picked up litter today along my route to the bus stop. This week, I decided to see how many recyclable items I would pick up. Bucket is all recyclable items.
Today's weirdest find: Care Bears cup (see picture)
Most common item: fast food packaging, mostly McDonald’s cups
Spent thirty minutes the past two weekends picking up litter along my typical route to the bus stop.
Weirdest find: collapsible pet water bowl
Most common: fast food packaging
@UrbanEastNash we need to take a broom and sweep around our bus stop on Gallatin soon.
@UrbanEastNash It wasn’t me. My allergies had been acting up recently, so I’ve been trying to stay indoors, minus my commute and walking the dog. As a thank you, I owe whoever cleared it a beverage of their choice!
@UrbanEastNash Last summer I swept that bridge, cut back some bushes, and removed the plants that started to grow in the sidewalk cracks. Unfortunately it looks like the glass comes back after 3 months.
@woo_ten@WeGoTransit Also the stop locations seem weirdly spaced. Example, the new stop in front of dollar general after turning left onto Gallatin is going to be rough for everyone involved.
@TrentBenge@nkornutick@UrbanEastNash I can give you the design if you want to order 500 pins from it.

I was not aware that I was supposed to take a selfie on the 56 today, but I did get a picture this fancy new traffic calming on litton while walking home from the bus stop.
@UrbanEastNash @quinevanssegall @HortonRollin This also reminds me of when Withers said the setback was for trees/shade for pedestrians. Anecdotally, on a recent dog walk, I saw 33 newer builds/HPRs; 10 had trees, and 5 trees were in a spot and species that could provide shade if both sides of the streets had sidewalks.
@UrbanEastNash @quinevanssegall @HortonRollin Don't forget that after the house is sold, the new owners usually add more concrete to make it look like this.
Love the impromptu street calming on litton. Cars are actually going around the speed limit for once and the bins are not blocking the sidewalk for strollers or me walking. As an added bonus it prevents usps from driving on the sidewalk!
