@kgarciadumont@johnrich I’ve confirmed with NES that power has been restored and had MNPD conduct a wellness check. I appreciate every person in Nashville who has been looking out for their neighbors and helping to advocate for the needs of our community.
#NESOutageAlert January 25 9am
The combination of freezing rain and ice has impacted the NES service territory overnight, with trees being weighed down by ice causing them to snap and take down power lines.
Right now, more than 188,000 customers are currently without power. Our teams are fully staffed and already in the field assessing damage and beginning repairs, and contract crews have been called in to assist. This will be a longer outage which could span over days or longer. We have additional resources through mutual aid and supplemental crews on their way. As of 7 a.m. this morning we have 120 NES lineworkers, and 40 contracted lineworkers. This evening, we will have 80 lineworkers mobilizing to Nashville and another 75 planned to arrive at 7 a.m. tomorrow.
Since yesterday, crews have been operating in continuous rotations, and they will remain on extended 14–16‑hour shifts to ensure we can continue responding to outages quickly. We ask that everyone stay away from downed power lines, and to always assume they are live and dangerous.
How to Stay Updated

Antioch families can call the reunification number for information on connecting with their students: 615-401-1712. The line is very busy. Stay on even if you don't hear a tone.
Antioch High School families: Buses will take students from Antioch High School to Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital, 3754 Murfreesboro Pike, as they are released from the scene by Metro Police. We ask that parents go to the reunification site at Ascension Saint Thomas. Please do not come to Antioch High School. Thank you.
Announcement: Antioch High School is on a lockdown due to shots being fired inside the school building. Metro Police are on the scene. The person responsible for shooting is no longer a threat. We will be gathering students in the auditorium and will provide information on reunification as soon as possible.
This is an active crime scene and investigation. We will work with the MNPD to provide further updates as they become available.
