Yes, it depends where it is. At Cal-Am, the rent usually increases 3% to 10% per year, depending upon what the market will bear in that area. The amenities are usually way, way less expensive to maintain in a 55+ property because there are fewer children using them, which means that the rents can be lower.

Drug convictions function in much the same way that a tax evasion conviction did for Al Capone did. It's a 'we know what you are really doing, but this is what we can get you on' situation. He's not doing anything worse, so law enforcement does not care about it any more than they care about poor people doing it. There is not a single person in prison for drug use who is actually there because of drug use.
