AI is an amazing tool for those already experts in a domain and makes a massive difference already.

It also gives a false sense of confidence when you nothing about a domain - and v easy to get stuck

@1000yearhouse yeah this is the biggest problem ive always had with "new materials." might be "better" out of the box but when they fail they have to be completely replaced rather than repaired. Also, worn natural materials often have character where worn veneers/etc look like garbage.

@youwillmakemaps ebay has effectively become my goodwill drop-off. I make sure shipping is 100% covered and I set the bid at $1 and will list anything that fits in the UPS box near my house. Some stuff sells for $2+shipping... others gets bid surprisingly high. Either way its convenient for me.
