Sometimes, I wonder if it needs more than common sense to see a crisis coming.

Look at a typical case of Maharashtra.

It was always a water scarce state.
Yet, it has been made into India's largest ethanol-producing state, with roughly 315 crore liters annual capacity.
Not only that, Maharashtra hosts almost half (45%+) of the entire country's upcoming data centers by capacity.
And now, 75% of Maharashtra is declared to be under severe drought.

And then we call it as a 'natural' disaster.

So while villages wait for tankers, policymakers are encouraging more sugarcane, more ethanol, and more data centres.

A state facing drought should treat water as capital, not as an unlimited free resource.

At the end of the day, no one can drink ethanol or eat data to survive.
One will need water - for sure.

Had an "interview" for a blockchain project last week.

Camera was on, we're chatting, and the guy tells me to clone a GitHub repo and run it locally before we go further into the technical round.

I said sure, but first can you do me a favor

hold up 3 fingers in front of your face for me real quick.

He froze.

Didn't move.

Just sat there for a few seconds before the call cut off and he blocked me.

That's when I knew. A real interviewer doesn't glitch out over a random ask like that. A deepfake/AI overlay does.

These "run this repo" scams are getting scary common in crypto and dev hiring right now.

The setup is always the same:

- flattering DM
- real-sounding project
- rushed timeline
- a "quick step" before the call

that's really just remote access or a credential stealer in disguise.

If someone wants you to run code or install something before you've even had a real conversation, that's the whole scam.

Trust the instinct. Stay safe out there.

आज दुपारी बारा वाजेपर्यंत IIT मुंबईचे प्रा. दुल्ला राजीनामा देतील, काल रात्री आयआयटीच्या संचालकांनी तशी घोषणाच केली आहे.
तसेच ही घोषणा करतानाच खुद्द आयआयटी मुंबईचे संचालक प्��ो.श्रीश केदारे यांनीही आपला राजीनामा दिला आहे.

100 हून अधिक पेपर्स, स्वतःच्या नावावर 6 पेटंट्स, 12 सर्वोच्च पुरस्कार, त्यांनी केलेल्या रिसर्चचे 3700 हून अधिक ठिकाणी रेफरन्सेस दिले गेलेले आहेत,13 हून अधिक PhDs त्यांनी गाईड केलेल्या आहेत.
चाळीसहून अधिक वर्��ाचं प्रो.केदारे यांचं करियर आहे.
असो.

पण IIT बॉम्बेने विद्यार्थी आंदोलकांची मागणी मान्य केली आहे.

मन लावून कॉपी करताना त्यांनी विद्यार्थ्याला पकडलं त्यामुळे प्रा. दुल्लांसारख्या व्यक्तीबरोबर हेच व्हायला हवं होतं.
हिम्मत कशी झाली त्यांची असं करायची?
परीक्षेचे पेपर लिहिताना तरुण विद्यार्थ्यांना एकाग्रतेची गरज असते आणि कॉपी करताना, तेही ChatGPT च्या मदतीने कॉपी करताना तर दुप्पट एकाग्रत��ची गरज असते. अशा वेळी प्रा. दुल्ला यांनी त्याला पकडून त्याची एकाग्रता भंग करण्याचे धाडस कसे केले? लाज वाटायला हवी त्यांना !

प्रा. दुल्ला तुम्ही ताबडतोब चालते व्हा . प्रो . केदारे तुम्ही पण निघा ताबडतोब.
IITच्या बाहेर जा. भारताबाहेर जा. तुमच्या या प्रतिभावान बुद्धिमत्तेचा सन्मान आणि योग्य मोब��ला मिळेल, अशा एखाद्या परदेशात जाऊन स्थायिक व्हा.
भारताला प्रतिभावान बुद्धिमत्तेची गरज नाही; भारताला फक्त तरुण बुद्धिमत्तेची गरज आहे.

आत्मपरीक्षण करणे वगैरे आम्हाला शिकवलेले नाही मात्र भारत सोडून परदेशात बुद्धिमत्ता निघून गेली की तिच्या नावाने खडे फोडणे आम्हाला शिकवले आहे.

आणि इथून पुढे अशा घटना घडून येत यासाठी,
नावाजलेल्या संस्थांनी आरक्षणाबरोबरच कॉपी सुद्धा मान्य करून टाकावी.
केंद्र सरकारने तशा प्रकारचा काही कायदा करता आला तर पहावा,
विद्यार्थ्यांवर दबाव येऊ नये म्हणून कॉपी कायदेशीर करणे गरजेचेच आहे नाही का?

80 पर्सेंटाइल मिळवून संस्थेत दाखल झालेल्या विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी आपण पेपर सेट करायचा आहे हा नियम इथून पुढे बदलून टाकण्यात यावा.
30 पर्सेंटाइल मिळवून जे आलेले आहेत त्यांच्यासाठीच सोपा पेपर सेट करावा.

या दोन दिग्गज प्राध्यापकांनी/ संचालकांनी राजीनामा दि��ेल���च आहे तर खिशात मोबाईल घेऊन वर्गात गेलेल्या विद्यार्थ्याला पकडता आले नाही म्हणून तिथल्या वॉचमनचाही राजीनामा घेण्यात यावा.

जगभरातील त्या सगळ्या पालकांनीही आपल्या पालकत्वाचा राजीनामा द्यावा ज्यांना आपल्या विद्यार्थ्यांना अभ्यासू बनवता आले नाही.

IIT मध्ये admission तर घेता येईल पण पुढे त्या संस्थेच्या परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण होण्याएवढी कुवत आपल्या पाल्याची आहे का हे पालकाने अजिबात पाहू नये.
जो विद्यार्थी गेला त्याला आयआयटी पेक्षा स्वतःच्या पालकांची भीती वाटत होती का, हा मुद्दा कोणीही कधीही विचारात घेऊ नये. कारण ते जातीच्या राजकारणात बसणारे नाही.

राजीनामा देताना डायरेक्टर केदारे यांनी पुढील विधान केलं आहे," आम्ही फक्त आमचं काम करत होतो. परीक्षेमध्ये कॉपी थांबवणे हे आमचं कर्तव्य आहे असं आम्हाला वाटलं म्हणून आम्ही ते केलं. पण हे चूक आहे असं तुम्हाला वाटत असेल तर मी राजीनामा दे���ो. अशा प्रकारच्या आंदोलनांमध्ये भाग घेऊन तुमचं शैक्षणिक नुकसान होऊ नये, हाच वेळ तुम्ही अभ्यासावर फोकस करण्यासाठी द्यावा असं मला वाटतं म्हणून मी थांबतो."

Oh, the horror! Young people spending ₹10K on HYROX to run, sweat & compete. Such show offs..back in our day, we didn’t need all this nonsense… blah blah.
Stop.
Put that against the reality many young people face today marks, ranks, entrance exams, relentless academic competition, social
media bullying.. all leading towards mental health crisis. The alarming rise in suicides among young people is telling.
So if a kid spends ₹10K, trains hard, finishes the event & takes a hundred pictures, I say let them.
Exercise is known to reduce stress & boost mood, confidence. It gives a sense of achievement, being part of a community… a reason to live.
Let them sweat, let them celebrate. Let them show off a little.
