@decebalulus “Claude”, toma vergonha e pega um dicionário. Não está claro se completamente ou parcialmente, mas é falso. Mas que fosse verdade: pouco importa.
@CovfefeAnon@PiNelloPeexnk@alexthechick@politicalmath "There is no prescriptive definition"
says every descriptivist. You've all but declared yourself one already:
"I have never seen it used that way - I have seen it used the way politicalmath used it many, many times [and that's why it's correct]"
lol.

@CovfefeAnon@PiNelloPeexnk@alexthechick@politicalmath You may dispute the authoritativeness of it (I don’t), but the fact remains that she gave the commonly accepted prescriptive definition, while you’re making a descriptivist argument. I agree with your broader point, but this was somewhat of a blunder.
@PsychoMechanics@EveKeneinan I’d say our spatial intuitions are well modelled by geometry (actually, quite the opposite: geometry is a codification of our intuitions); that’s what I meant with that image. The fact that this model breaks at very small scales is both surprising and interesting.
