"My only rose is gone!" The mother of 18-year-old Raghad Ashour, killed in the Israeli occupation's strike on al-Rimal market in Gaza City, speaks about the daughter she lost. Raghad was an orphan, she says, raised by her from the age of two until she became an eighteen-year-old young adult.

Through the genocide she had carried her from place to place, fleeing again and again so her girl would not be killed. Only the day before, Raghad had been making tea for a neighbor. She was clever, top of her class, and had come home overjoyed after excelling in an interview at a center. Then, in a single minute, she was gone. Her mother calls her my rose, my only daughter, the one she still shares a pillow with, asking God how something so cruel could happen, how the child she protected for eighteen years could slip away in a moment.

The sufferings mostly created by America and its allies

Being separated from the rest of the world, and not traveling outside the country much, helps create this mentality of exceptionalism.

The American treatment of the world is not the result of corrupt politicians or dictated by a lobby or a foreign power. It roots deep inside.

I know there are well-informed Americans out there who hate their ruling system as much as we do, but they are the anomaly, and we shouldn't forget that.
