@COUnfiltered's post yesterday got me researching Prop 195, the Colorado ballot initiative still in the signature gathering phase that, if ultimately placed on the ballot and passed, would replace Colorado's flat 4.4% income tax with a graduated one with rates as high as 7.4%, 7.9%, and 8.4%.
Of course, since these higher rates don't kick in until incomes of $500,000 or more and many earning $100,000 or less will see a small cut, you know that proponents are going to sell this as a "stick it to the man / eat the rich" kinda deal.
However, as I suspected, Grok confirmed there is a legal pathway for them to ratchet that $500,000 floor on down to $100,000 as time goes on. The measure amounts to a crack in the shell of TABOR.
Are people really dumb enough to believe that the government is going to be satisfied with getting more money from only the very rich?
This is how all tax schemes start- hit the 1% first, then expand downward over time from there.

@Oilfield_Rando Well that, and the fact the cameras we already do have aren't exactly resulting in any kind of justice being meted out, so I don't buy the "fighting crime" argument.
@ItIsHoeMath@kangminlee Yep, the cameras aren't for fighting crime, they are for maintaining the state of anarchotyranny when enough of the rest of us finally decide we've had enough of "letting them go and giving them cookies."
@Dr_Gavin_Brewis@Uncivilized468 I'm sure the woman that she stabbed and killed took some comfort in the fact her attacker wasn't holding the knife correctly.
@jezos_biff@EricBurlison The UK has had similar tech and then some for years. It didn't stop the migrant rape gangs there and it won't be used to stop the things you're talking about here.
@curtis_yarvin Flockbros are the gayest psyop ever.
There are retarded statists on both the right and the left but the left generally wants way more big daddy government than the right.
@curtis_yarvin Ironically, your musket would go a lot further towards solving anarchotyranny than Flock.
Flock is for maintaining the state of anarchotyranny when the day finally arrives that enough like-minded musket owners have the above realization...
@ThoughtCrimes80 I don't think it's quite as simple as that thread makes it out to be (I hope not anyway). But I did ask Grok a few questions and it said it could potentially open up a path for them to lower the threshold eventually:

UK: Migrants attack police officers โ one cop begs, โDonโt beat me! Iโm on your side, Iโm not racist and pro-Islam!โ
Do you support ending the woke British
government?
A. Yes
B. No
Anti-flock doesn't mean anti-police.
Police helicopters: Good, appropriate support of cops on the ground, helps catch bad guys and solve crimes.
Police Black Hawks fully kitted out to milspec with the 50 cal and the M134s: probably not a great idea, slippery slope to tyranny.
People are capable of nuance and you're the one acting like a leftist here. Not surprising when one considers that the viewpoint you are espousing is as statist as many of theirs.
We aren't going to let you flocksuckers divide and conquer on this one!
@MattWalshBlog It was a brilliantly executed loss prevention strategy by Target. I'd like to think some brilliant young man got a bonus for how well it is working.
@SenatorLankford What the fuck does that have to do with your duties as a US Senator? Stay over there and enlist in their infantry if you're so passionate about it, and let us replace you with someone that understands what country he works for!
