Jérémy Doku left behind the World Cup to be present at the birth of his son. A teammate who has three children of his own, supported Jérémy's decision saying "it's memories you can't take back."

However, a journalist said there were hundreds who "would kill to be in your shoes. It might never happen again in your life... You're living out a childhood dream, yet you're going to walk away from it all to attend the birth of your child, a disgusting moment ... where the dad is completely useless."

Did she ever consider that maybe Jérémy had a childhood dream of being a father and that maybe that dream trumped playing in something as cool as the World Cup? In fact, Jérémy has said, "A baby is your entire life. A World Cup is over when it is over."

I think beautiful – rather than disgusting – is the right word for the birth of his child. Jérémy and his family should be celebrated.

Thank you so much @AndrewRosindell for speaking out about the current British pet crisis. The public and media need to know the full extent of this issue. A stray/abandoned dog can be killed by a council after just 7 days if local shelters are full. Shelters across the UK are beyond full, most with waiting lists. Vets are not required to report how many healthy dogs they 'euthanise' for councils or owners. Councils continue to issue new licenses to breed.
