I'm currently searching for books on the busting of labor unions, privatization, and the pension grabs that have gone on in the United States since the 70's. I'm looking for books specifically on the subjects but would take books that cover enough for better understanding:subject
"You unlock your house every day with a key, so why is it suddenly a problem if the government and every corporation you've ever interacted with gets a copy of that key and access to your house!?"
SpaceX is public now.
That means we can see certain business documents.
One shows that SpaceX has claimed $1.9 BILLION in tax breaks they think the IRS would reject if they got audited.
Just in case you wondered why Musk and DOGE wanted the IRS defunded so badly.
My friend Jamie Raskin is one of the most careful and principled people in Congress. So when he says the director of the FBI may be running a taxpayer funded slush fund, I pay attention.
Here is what he found.
Kash Patel directed more than $1 million in bonus payments to a small circle of agents in his inner circle and on his security detail.
Some were getting nearly $8,000 every two weeks on top of salaries that were already maxed out at the federal ceiling. A number of them collected close to $40,000 over consecutive pay periods.
The payments came so fast that the FBI’s bonus reserve accounts ran dry and some checks bounced.
So who got the money?
Agents on Patel’s so-called "director’s advisory team."
That is the unit created in 2025 and described internally as a payback squad, built to dig up dirt on the law enforcement officials who investigated Trump and his allies.
Raskin has given Patel until June 29 to account for every payment, every recipient, and any internal review of whether this was even legal.
Patel should answer for all of it.

Elon Musk is now a trillionaire. But what if the real story isn't wealth—it's how wealth gets created and protected?
David S. D’Amato argues that today's biggest fortunes depend less on "free markets" than on systems of state-backed privilege.

Great Organized Money episode, we have Julia Angwin on to discuss Meta, which is showing all the signs of a dead company, but on the internet, dead platforms just become more dangerous in their death throes.

Wired knows who's in the secret society, and points out the conflicts: "executives appear.. with senior officials overseeing their industries" "Palantir cofounder Joe Lonsdale..in the same society as Army secretary Dan Driscoll" who gives him contracts. That's the Deep State. 10/
New today: Peter Thiel's secret society of illuminati had a website so insecure it exposed his entire membership list. And it's... interesting. His Palatantir folks, sure. Leonard Leo. The president of Stanford. Ezra Klein. And some D politicians who really shouldn't be there. 1/
Read the full CR Investigation.
Key findings include: universal price variation on base fares, fake discounts and companies keeping nearly half of all fares:
https://t.co/oRJxtaF3ql.
NEW: @consumerreports just ran a massive test of how Uber and Lyft set their prices.
The investigation found 11% of their discounts are fake.
Participants saw different prices for the same ride, from the same place. Often within the same minute.
Ka$h Patel’s FBI.
FBI agents raided the Cleveland offices of the voter registration org Ohio Organizing Collaborative.
Agents showed up at the homes of the group’s leaders and staff members, carrying subpoenas and seeking information and electronic devices.
More federal child labor violations were reported in 2025 than in any year since 2008’s Great Recession. Between 2020 and 2024, the rate of child deaths in the workplace almost doubled.
Amid these violations, 13 states introduced bills to chip away at child labor laws. And four states are enacting them.

Republicans are going to spend hundreds of billions that we don’t have to fund Trump’s endless war and line the pockets of the military industrial complex, which now includes members of Trump’s family.
Nothing for you, but a fortune for war.
Odd things that narcissists/psychopaths do:
1. They will purposely spell someone’s name wrong to demean that person.
2. Punishment they impose on someone when they are angry is often imposed at a later date but it is almost always related to the issue they are angry about so the victim has a good idea of what is going on without being told.
3. They will purposely misunderstand, sometimes for lengthy periods, as a form of control and sadistic delight.
4. They make agreements without any active commitment to keeping them. They may or may not honour agreements, depending on what suits them at the time.
