@NeoAIForecast@TheAhmadOsman win, is in this context outlining the whole human dillemma. we can only „win“ if a global regulation ensure secured usage, regardless if closed or open models. surely nothing to win if ie USA arrives at AGI level while the rest of the world starts suffering. biggest misconception

For my first post, I’m sharing a letter @NVIDIA signed on why open models matter.
AI will transform every industry, power every company, and be built by every country.
Open models strengthen safety and cybersecurity, accelerate innovation and diffusion, and enable sovereignty.
The world needs both frontier closed models and frontier open models.

@sairahul1 we need an answer on token cost mgmt, as top level models consume much more for good reasons but with wrong prompts or missguided agents this could result in budget constraints before any agent fleet benefit kicks in. need to be solved by the frontier labs.
@N_and_ni simple: it’s unpredictable and every guess isn’t more than a guess.
perhaps it’s a chinese model like kimi 10? too many variables and uncertainty and the biggest sits in US government.
just my 2 cents prediction, given what we know and see today.
@sairahul1 how to ensure they don’t cause harm? this shouldn’t be left to companies or individuals but a definite responsibility of the frontier labs. the moment one model solves this sustainable and lasting, it wins the race. will agi help out or make things worse? see open ai incident…

@sama We require clarity safeguarding AI models. Adding more power simply don’t get you public applause anymore. It’s still a race where society stays aside astonished without anything we can do, except living with consequences. What’s your answer? Just this answer leads to abundance.
