Next week we're going to have a journal club about the talk at CERN, mainly to affirm our commitment to improving equity in science, and to discuss how we can address harmful and unscientific statements like the ones in the CERN talk. Stay tuned for more details!!!
We're also super excited for Dr. Strickland, the third woman to ever receive a #NobelPrize in physics! We hope the Nobel committee continues to recognize women and other minoritized scientists for their incredible research.
BREAKING NEWS The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the #NobelPrize in Physics 2018 “for groundbreaking inventions in the field of laser physics” with one half to Arthur Ashkin and the other half jointly to Gérard Mourou and Donna Strickland.
