@faircropfest Have odd situ & need help pls. Have 2x 2020 2day tix but need to take son Fri and stepdad Sat - neither able to do 2days. Can that work?
@pictureworks@RichardJMurphy He hasn't actually resigned as anything yet - he didn't say it in his speech and we haven't seen his letter. As far as we know he is still PM AND tory leader. All he said was that he agreed with Brady that the process to find a new leader should start. Not even "will" start!
Lots of resignations this week... All but one have published their resignation letter. Has ANYONE seen Johnson's resignation letter as tory leader? Does it exist? Or in other words, has he actually resigned?
@edwinhayward He didn't even *suggest* that he was resigning, he said that he agreed that the process of finding a new tory party leader should start and that the timetable would come out next week. Then he told some more lies about what they achieved and thanked some people. Listen again.
@RussInCheshire I have only read half of this first tweet and already have a massive grin (you had me at "casserole")! F**k off world for the next 5 mins while I read the rest of the thread...
@JohnScoots1@AudreyMarks19@BeanieMacintosh@alanferrier "which it should already have done" - it won't without EDF etc. That's expensive and brexit made it more expensive so its not happening, and France buying out EDF isn't going to help either. rUK energy is really not going to be in a position to choose NOT to buy from Scotland.
@JohnScoots1@AudreyMarks19@BeanieMacintosh@alanferrier Disingenuous. An independent nation state has it's own infrastructure, own industry, own tax and borrowing facilities and can distribute or centralise atb will. The EU centralises distinct functions London had finance, no reason Scotland couldn't have one too, e.g. renewables?
@edwinhayward If he had actually tendered his resignation as leader, he could easily be picked off and not be able to hang on until the conference. What is it between now and then that he's so desperate to be in post for? Can't just be "not losing to May" can it?
@edwinhayward So the process "should" start now, not "has started", and they're working out a timetable for it. Fiver says that his resignation will be an item on that timetable as that's the thing that triggers the actual contest, a contest that is usually settled in a couple of weeks.
@edwinhayward For now and for how much longer we have no clue, he is still the leader of the tory party and the prime minister. He now has some lightweight toadies on the payroll none of whom are up to running the country and he absolutely will subvert the processes of the leadership contest
@edwinhayward Don't get me wrong, I don't know how he gets out of the jail but he's dodged the noose and bought himself time which no doubt will be spent finding a different kind of loophole, just like he did over parties, just like he did over the sex pest...
@JohnScoots1@AudreyMarks19@BeanieMacintosh@alanferrier Ask yourself why. Scotland could and should have flourishing industry and, like the north of England and most of Wales, sees an outflow of talent! Perhaps WM encouraging all investment into South East? That's why I came South. Lack of investment from WM is the reason.
@robertcourts Also, many of your WM colleagues also didn't stand down for reasons far more credible than yours, yet still managed to find some vestigial remnant of a spine and make clear that Johnson's deceit was unacceptable - you did not, you are complicit by your choice of silence.
@robertcourts Except it's not Westminster that needs to sort itself out is it @robertcourts? No, it's the shambles that is what's left of the tory party.
