Meet the group of individuals standing for election in the upcoming @RIBA Council elections who are supporting and supported by The #justtransitionlobby.

Hello all South Scotland RIBA members. I'm standing for election in the South Scotland Regional @RIBA council seat. Statement available on RIBA website in support of the #justtransitionlobby.
@SOSLeith Pretty sure corten can be blast cleaned. Rust comes off but reforms with time. There aught to be a council strategy for maintenance and well worth highlighting to check there is a good solution.

@Edinburgh_CC It’s good to see that overall there is a growing understanding that many streets are better without cars. I agree also that as natural cooling, trees are extremely important: much research on this. I am sure conservation bodies will accept with reasonable discussion/ evidence.
@Cyclesouthedin@edinhelp I just cycled down Braid Road to roundabout by the Hermitage about 10mins ago and just warded myself 'best bike handling skills on off camber road with leafy deathtrap award' status.
Today marks the start of #PrestonStreetPrimarySchool's next campaign phase to improve our playground facilities & to further engage with other stakeholders regarding improvements to #ActiveTravel & #SpacesForPeople around school & connecting to the wider city.#Edinburgh#LEZ 1/5
Wester Hailes Growing Communities were out with @calumdarchitect yesterday consulting with local residents on more detailed proposals for a new 'Greenway Community Hub'. Lots of support for making this happen and remembering how things were in decades past. Excellent discussions
Shining in the early evening light, but there sure are some awkward corners in Wester Hailes. I cycled from central Edinburgh, attempting to meander through Sighthill, and was struck by both geography and the urban design (both roads and paths).
3. In the details, the twists and turns are far from the organic pattern you might find in the medieval old town for example. Difficult to be social or friendly in these kind of nooks.
