The day I decided to close my shop, I felt like I had lost a big part of myself. I felt defeated, because the Mwiza I know doesn’t give up easily.
But a part of me had already died before that. It started when URA held my goods for four months. I felt utterly helpless. Eventually, I stopped going to the shop. I could go months without stepping inside.
Now, the physical shop is gone, and it still hurts. But I sleep better at night knowing I no longer have to deal with URA holding the only capital I have for months. 🙌🏾
@MwizaSophy@MwizaSophy , considering the fact that I am in the same business I can tell u that I totally relate .. and then all the extortion from the UNBS and poor cargo consolidators plus abnormal storage costs in those bonds Business makes u consider your choices in life recently
Last night, Muhoozi’s PLU sent its Secretary General, Twalla Fadil, onto NBS TV’s Frontline — and if you watched the exchange, you saw a man under serious pressure to defend his movement’s positions.
Fadil has already been at the centre of PLU’s campaign against Turkey over Fred Lumbuye. On September 18, he led PLU supporters to the Turkish Embassy demanding that Turkey hand Lumbuye over to Uganda.
But putting someone on a political rally stage is one thing. Putting them under sustained questioning on live television is another.
And that distinction was impossible to miss.
Fadil struggled to deal with some of the questions put to him, and instead of projecting the confidence you would expect from the Secretary General of a movement positioning itself as a major political force, the appearance became a difficult test of his ability to defend PLU’s positions in real time.
And that raises a much bigger question: what exactly happens when the cameras are on, the slogans are gone, and the movement has to explain itself under scrutiny?
Because political movements are not tested only at stage managed rallies where fake supporters are cheering. They are tested when their representatives are challenged, questioned and forced to account for what they say.
And Fadil’s appearance gives critics plenty to talk about.
As for Muhoozi himself, his public speaking and media appearances have also attracted criticism over the years. But whatever one thinks of his communication style, the more important question is whether PLU can consistently put forward representatives who can clearly articulate and defend its positions when challenged.
The microphone changes everything. The slogans disappear. The questions begin. And that is where political movements get tested.

My brother @MwesigyeFranks, I am very disappointed in you,or perhaps I should say, even more disappointed.
The gentleman you are publicly associating with, regardless of whether you are friends, whether he has made you offers, or whatever your personal relationship may be, has been a subject of numerous allegations of fraud, with multiple people presenting evidence against him.
I have personally shared some of that evidence here, including police reference numbers and court references. Many others have also continued to share their experiences involving @Ssempijjastanle over the years.
I therefore don't understand how you publicly associate with someone facing such serious allegations and, more importantly, receive him in your office at PLU.
Is this what the institution stands for? publicly associating with fraudsters?
You have the capacity to verify these concerns by contacting different police stations in Kampala, particularly Kira Road and CPS, and establish how many complaints or cases have been reported against Stanley.
Don't you think that, by publicly associating with him in your official capacity, you risk creating the impression that PLU is endorsing or normalising such conduct?
And this isn't just coming from me. Check the third frame and the many messages I have received from people expressing concern about your association with him.
If PLU intends to lead this country and presents itself as a force against corruption, shouldn't a persin like you, be helping to ensure that credible allegations of fraud are properly investigated and that victims can obtain justice?
Otherwise, what exactly are we asking Ugandans to believe?
You failed to complete 3 years at university, failed UACE, failed UCE and failed P7 a 16-year journey of academic setbacks yet you ask, “Which milestone?”
A Bishopric isn't earned by hashtags or sarcasm. It takes 20+ years of sacrifice, faith, service, stones, fire and valleys to reach such a calling.
You may disagree with the person, but mocking a milestone built through decades of sacrifice only exposes how little you understand the price of achievement.
Some people count failures; others turn decades of sacrifice into milestones. @DaudiKabanda
Playing basketball with the president of Rwanda @PaulKagame and the CDF of Uganda @mkainerugaba. The messes I made would win me a sport in the Guinness Book of World Records as most disastrous player of all time
