God has a Law.

We have broken it.

We are guilty.

Sin demands death.

Eternal death.

That’s the bad news.

The good news is:

There is One who, like us, was born under the Law, but unlike us, in that He was born of a virgin, was perfect, and kept the Law.

He is completely righteous.

That Man, who had no sin (and did not deserve death), paid for sin (the death we deserved) on the cross. Namely, He died not for His sin but for the sins of His people.

That Man said, “Repent of your sin and believe in Me that you may be forgiven.”

By faith, sinners are forgiven not because of their Law-keeping but by receiving the record of Law-keeping from the One who was perfect.

That is, sinners are forgiven because faith applies Christ’s blood payment to our death sentence and His perfect life to our record.

That Man is the Lord Jesus Christ—our only hope and Savior from death and hell.

“He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” -2 Corinthians 5:21

“I’m found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith.” - Philippians 3:9
