Three years ago today, an attempted genocide on the Jewish people took place. Rather than the world uniting with the Jews against a common enemy of humanity (Islamic terrorists), the West decided that Hamas (Gaza) was deserving of our full empathy and the Jews were the ones committing a "genocide." The inversion of reality is beyond what Orwell or Kafka could have imagined. The explosion of global Jew-hatred post October 7 highlights a very ugly reality: Scratch the surface and you quickly sink into the infinity pool of arguably the oldest hatred known to mankind.
Facts:
-- there is no genocide
-- there is no apartheid
-- Hamas started the war and could have ended it by releasing the hostages
-- IDF tries to minimize civilian deaths (combatant to civilian death ratio is among the lowest in any war)
-- Palestinian terrorists try to maximize civilian deaths
-- You have made NYC less safe for jews thanks to your hate-filled rhetoric
-- Jews are indigenous to Israel
My opinion
-- you're a disgrace of a human being for writing this today.
3 years ago today, Hamas invaded Israel from Gaza and murdered 1,200 people, the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust.
Hamas then retreated behind its own people, using Gaza's civilians as a narrative shield of "oppression and resistance." A week-long invasion became a 3-year propaganda war against the Jews.
I see antisemitism as a barometer for the collective mental health of a society.
Inflation, wealth inequality, increased costs of living, are all squeezing society, and people go looking for a villain to blame.
Social media, expertly leveraged by global Islamism (the Islamic Regime, Qatar, Turkey) to create the pro-palestine movement, provides the answer: the Jews. Jews, the most oppressed people in history, are somehow always the oppressor.
We are seeing the same beginnings of the Islamo-Marxist alliance that created the Islamic revolution that has opressed the people of Iran since 1979.
(btw, all the Marxists in that alliance were executed once the Islamists took power - "Queers for Palestine!" is a modern echo of this)
I don't know why society has singled out the Jews, but IMO how a country treats its Jewish diaspora reflects its overall mental health.
Like the Iranian diaspora, when Jews are free to participate in a country's economy, that country prospers. Both are among the most hardworking, entrepreneurial, and successful groups in the world. The cultures that have been oppressed the most, and that value freedom and modernity, have produced outsized wealth, knowledge, and contributions to the world.
We, as society, must protect the Jews.
I hope this modern wave of antisemitism becomes a thing of the past, and Jews can once again feel safe in the modern Western society they helped create.

THE DEFIANT EXCLUSIVE: @arbitrum is making @Paxos' USDG its ecosystem dollar.
The stablecoin goes live natively on Arbitrum One today and Arbitrum joins @global_dollar's network.
Arbitrum holds $3.79B of stablecoins, and until now the reserve income on all of it went to the issuer.
Global Dollar Network partners earn up to 100% of the returns on reserves backing USDG held on their platform. That income now accrues to the Arbitrum ecosystem and gets spent growing USDG and paying the teams that integrate it.
Day one:
@0xfluid hosts USDG's DEX liquidity on Arbitrum
@MorphoLabs runs USDG lending vaults, curated by Steakhouse and Gauntlet
@GMX_IO is building a dedicated USDG liquidity line, with USDG the only stablecoin in its GLV(USDG) vault
@maplefinance brings syrupUSDG, its institutional credit yield wrapper
@krakenfx handles on and off ramps
Stargate, on LayerZero, moves USDG between Arbitrum and other chains
@Uniswap and Fhenix follow
A proposal published today asks ArbitrumDAO to name USDG growth a strategic objective and add 100M ARB to the DRIP incentive program behind it. It hasn't been voted on yet.

The @CFTC just put a regulatory definition on self-custody.
Monday's rulemaking covers CTXs — retail crypto trades on margin, leverage or financing. By statute those have to happen on a registered exchange, with one exception: if the trade results in "actual delivery" of the asset within 28 days, it falls outside the agency's jurisdiction.
Nobody had defined what delivery means for a token. The CFTC just took a position.
Chairman @MichaelSelig:
"We propose to codify an interpretation of 'actual delivery' to clarify that delivery of a crypto asset to a user's external, non-custodial digital wallet within 28 days generally satisfies this exception."
The Commission writes that control of a crypto asset "may require possession of the credentials (e.g., private key(s)) to the digital wallet address."
And for tokens with governance or staking rights, delivery may require the capacity to govern "directly and on a disintermediated basis," and to stake "without being subject to fees charged by an intermediary."
The flip side matters as much. A fully paid, open position that sits only on an exchange's internal book-entry stays subject to the Commodity Exchange Act and the framework that governs futures contracts.
Self-custody is the thing that ends CFTC jurisdiction. An IOU on an exchange ledger does not.
This is an advance notice, not a final rule. Comments run 60 days from Federal Register publication.

NEAR INTENTS GM SAYS $3.8M HACK FUNDS RETURNED
Alex Shevchenko says the team is stopping its investigation. @near_intents had already pledged to compensate the lost funds in full.

so let me get this straight. in the last two weeks:
base shipped a seize function inside its native token standard (cobalt upgrade)
thorchain turned down a freeze request from bitget, even as it confirmed it could halt the entire chain if it wanted to
near intents didn't wait to be asked and froze $503k mid-swap over the bitget hack and said permissionless "doesn't mean neutral"
near intents then halted itself after getting drained for $3.8m
yes pragmatism, institutions etc etc .. but at the very base protocol layers???
Right near itself is decentralized and at the intents layer you gain the ability to respond quickly to hacks, sanctions etc. but you also introduce a new point of control where users coordinate across chains. That may be a good design choice for intents but t’s a tradeoff that can include things like more regulatory risk and censorship
takeaways from crypto vc panel from yesterday at @kbwofficial:
I asked @tomhschmidt@SpartanBlack_1@redonettii
is crypto vc dying and are all vcs just writing checks for fintech and AI?
-- the answer unanimously was that crypto is not over, but it's become so ubiquitously better money that it's permeated other categories, just like internet companies stopped being called internet companies.
Answers were more mixed when I asked about whether web3 is dying / dead
-- Tom said past cycles provided many examples and lessons on what not to do, but not many (or any) successful companies. didn't rule out a new wave of innovation in non-financial use cases
-- Kelvin and Robbie pointed to some pockets where web3 was still showing signs of life like the gacha games and some NFTs. Robbie said we may still see an NFT comeback
This porsche news just made me wonder if this was yet another nail in web3's coffin
Today, we are announcing the conclusion of the Porsche Web3 project and PIONΞERS CIRCLE.
What began as an exploration of new ways to connect the Porsche spirit with the digital world evolved into much more than a technology initiative. Over the past years, the PIONΞERS CIRCLE became a space for experimentation, exchange and shared discovery, bringing together a global community united by curiosity, creativity and a passion for exploring new possibilities at the intersection of innovation, culture and the Porsche brand. Through your feedback, creative contributions and shared experiences, you helped shape the journey itself, turning digital interactions into meaningful connections and unforgettable moments both online and offline, from Discord conversations to events and experiences on the racetrack.
To everyone who joined us from around the world, contributed ideas, created with us, or simply followed the journey: THANK YOU. We are incredibly grateful for the energy and commitment you brought to this shared adventure.
As this journey draws to a close, Porsche continues to evolve, adapting to new opportunities and shaping the future in its own way. We look back with appreciation on everything we explored together and the pioneering spirit that brought this community to life.
What happens next
• PORSCHΞ 911 NFTs will remain with their respective holders and continue to exist on the blockchain.
