Update: Contacted @AmazonHelp and their solution was to refund the book, which again, was a gift in the first place. Thatโs all. No apology, no accountability at all.

@drkalyncoghill Oh, absolutely! Even now, south is red, backwards, slow while north is blue, progressive, learned. But that narrative is so untrue and it really discredits the intense political and societal awareness and decision-making processes of so-called โcountryโ Black folk.
@drkalyncoghill Not minimizing it bc I think itโs great, but itโs definitely a happening, kinda edgy thing to do nowโshortening the supply chain, refusing capitalistic control over food/nature. My research ? is why it was taken for granted or just โcountryโ when folks did it in the early 1900s.

I grew up on American Girl stories. Little House on the Prairie. Anne of Green Gables. Naturally, I behave as though Iโve come down with consumption whenever I have a mild cough.
Looks like Iโll be in NYC next month! Iโm so grateful for the opportunity to work with the vast holdings at the Schomburg Center and be in conversation with people (past and present) about the meanings of environmental radicalism.
