@AllianceForCha1 The best you can do is the distinction between assault and battle rifle, which classifies assault rifles as meaning a rifle which does not fire a full size cartridge (5.56/7.62), whereas a battle rifle fires 30-30 or 30-06 (a much deadlier round, I might add) (2/2)

People at this point have resorted to simply saying “we need gun control” without specific prescriptions because they haven’t got the first bit of knowledge about firearms.

@AllianceForCha1 It is not your responsibility to decide what I need and don’t need. “Assault rifle” is another ambiguous term. Liberals generally use it to refer to features which make a gun look more intimidating, not more deadly, i. e. Barrel shrouds, suppressors, pistol grips, etc. (1/2)

@AllianceForCha1 I agree that mental health is a large part of the problem, but very few Americans have class III licenses which allow them to purchase automatic weapons. And no “mass shooting” (a legally undefined term) has been committed using such a weapon.

Although it’s a popular sentiment, which makes us skeptical of its merits, the ideals of nature preservation are held dear by the Distributusts. We, however, may be the only ones suggesting radical enough change to make a difference.
