@dilipkjena A6 Jesus IS the Christ! He is the only way to eternal life, He died on the cross for forgiveness of our sins, and through Him we will be made righteous to God. This is the true and only Gospel everyone should know!

Jesus died on the cross which gave them eternal life with He and the Father. Being our brothers and sisters in Christ, we would welcome them with open arms and hearts. We will live life along side them in this world and the next!

These people can be called “A Christian in name only” because they do not trust in God for what they need. The world is bigger than God in their hearts and they are still looking to themselves for solutions. Jesus told us that God would take care of our needs like the sparrows in Matthew 6:25-27

This would be an emotional response to the Word. Like the person who comes to church to hear how much God loves him/her but when the sermon is on sin and repentance, they don’t like it and go to a more seeker sensitive church that doesn’t mention that part. Only mentioning God’s love and not His judgement nor sin/repentance is a false Gospel.

We would present it in a similar way to others since we may not know which “soil” we are speaking with. By saying “Satan snatches it away”, I believe, is another way of saying that the person’s sin nature is predominant in them and they have NO interest in the things of God nor in knowing Him. They will not respond.

No, not unfair. He was calling His people to Him by telling a parable and seeing who would respond. The true believer that was being called responds to the Word and looks to gain knowledge of God and His kingdom. The Word is truth and our means of knowing He whom we love. God’s children want to know Him and be close to Him through His word. The world doesn’t and it is unknowable.

Genesis 47:29-32 And when the time drew near that Israel must die, he called his son Joseph and said to him, “If now I have found favor in your sight, put your hand under my thigh and promise to deal kindly and truly with me. Do not bury me in Egypt, 30 but let me lie with my fathers. Carry me out of Egypt and bury me in their burying place.” He answered, “I will do as you have said.” 31 And he said, “Swear to me”; and he swore to him. Then Israel bowed himself upon the head of his bed.
Why do you think it was so important for Jacob to be buried with his fathers?

Genesis 47:23-25 Then Joseph said to the people, “Behold, I have this day bought you and your land for Pharaoh. Now here is seed for you, and you shall sow the land. And at the harvests you shall give a fifth to Pharaoh, and four fifths shall be your own, as seed for the field and as food for yourselves and your households, and as food for your little ones.” And they said, “You have saved our lives; may it please my lord, we will be servants to Pharaoh.”
The Egyptian people have sold themselves into servitude and, yet, praise Joseph. Why do you think they feel that way?
How are verses 23 and 25 a foreshadowing of Jesus?
Q7 #HealthyFaithChat
Genesis 47:27 Thus Israel settled in the land of Egypt, in the land of Goshen. And they gained possessions in it, and were fruitful and multiplied greatly.
Juxtaposition this verse to the last question’s verses. How do you think the Egyptian people will feel about this difference of treatment and lifestyle?

Genesis 47 19-21 “Why should we die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for food, and we and our land will be slaves to Pharaoh. So give us seed, that we may live and not die, and that the land may not be desolate.” So Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh, for every Egyptian sold his field because the famine was severe upon them. Thus the land became Pharaoh’s. As for the people, he moved them to the cities from one end of Egypt’s border to the other end.
How does this show what happens during a national crisis and who generally prospers?
Q4 #HealthyFaithChat
Genesis 47:13-15 Now there was no food in all the land because the famine was very heavy, so that the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan languished because of the famine. And Joseph gathered all the money that was found in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan for the grain which they bought, and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house. Then the money came to an end in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan. So all the Egyptians came to Joseph and said, “Give us food, for why should we die in your presence? For our money is gone.”
Why would this be such a frightening and volatile time for all of Egypt?
