I counted Tim Picton as a colleague, comrade and mate. I am deeply saddened to learn of his passing.

We worked together over many years, through his roles for former Premier Daniel Andrews and with the Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority.

He worked on many different things for the Victorian people, but his biggest contributions were transport, transport and transport.

Tim Picton got Victorians moving. He made a massive difference helping remove dozens of level crossings and getting started on the Metro Tunnel, the West Gate Tunnel, the North East Link, and so much more.

Today, I recognise his countless friends and colleagues in the Victorian labour movement, who are feeling shock and grief.

On behalf of the Victorian Government and the Victorian Labor Party, I send my heartfelt condolences to Priya, to Charlotte, to everyone in his family, and to everyone who loved him.

I am so sorry for your loss.
