@AGHamilton29 When Republicans force women to deliver ectopic pregnancies, try to overturn elections they lose, and give would-be school shooters unfettered access to semiautomatic weapons, it’s very important we have moderate republicans like Susan Collins to express deep disappointment.
@ModeledBehavior I don’t necessarily agree, but you can easily believe that massive compute investments will not pay off, and that capabilities as they exist today will cause mass displacement as they diffuse through the economy
@RichardHanania You are a partner of Mechanize. What do you think the world looks like if they actually achieve their goals? Would gdp growth not be massively uplifted?
@AndrewCurran_ People who are displaced from AI will not want to survive off of the supposed generosity of tech oligarchs. Charity is ephemeral but displacement is permanent
@GregoryConti19 is there a good word for "a deep-seated hatred, dislike, or distrust of humankind, human nature, and human society"? It's at the tip of my tongue.
@tszzl@archstanton_777 is there anything your employer could do where you would seriously considering leaving? I assume yes, and I think it's good signaling to state them publicly
@notcisjustwoman@2tittiesrfun@NathanJRobinson Buy the building? They could do that and live in one of the units, but they would still have to rent the remaining units at a loss (hence why no one's done this). If you mean buy the unit, no they cannot easily do this under New York law because it is not a condo or co-op.
