On National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, consider checking out my dear friend Marie’s book, North of Nowhere. It’s a thoughtful and touching account of her time as a Commissioner on Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission and an engaging read. #ndtr
Happy National Indigenous Peoples Day! 🪶 Today, we celebrate the rich histories, knowledge, and valuable contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. It's a time to recognize their remarkable strength, resilience, and achievements. How will you be celebrating?
This week I presented at the CRTC hearings in Whitehorse, Yukon. Thank you to the Commissioners for the opportunity to speak and for their collective efforts to improve telecom in the Far North and further reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples.
First Nations are spearheading some of the most ambitious conservation programs. Investing in & trusting in #Indigenous leadership at #COP15 will create more impactful outcomes on biodiversity & climate, shares Gillian Staveley of @DenaKayeh. @Sevawood: https://t.co/KGKBKrWGzT
In fact, this policy is more like an “Operation Head-Start” program for the well-established players to test out new markets. As a policy, it really doesn’t belong under an MVNO banner at all.
MVNOs are supposed to be virtual. If the CRTC has redefined MVNOs to require their own spectrum and facilities then that makes them MNOs, which kind of defeats the whole point. https://t.co/mLuLv3kvrA
The egg toss game today at the Musqueam Nation’s Indigenous Peoples Day. The winner successfully caught an egg that was thrown from 50 feet away. The losers got very messy.
We are so excited to come together for the first time since 2019 to celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day 🥳
Join us at Musqueam Cultural Centre on Tuesday, June 21 between 11am and 3pm for our outdoor celebration! ☀ There will be food, games, vendors and info booths to enjoy.
Today as part of our GoFundMe campaign, friends and neighbours donated 22 sleeping bags and 20 pizzas to homeless shelters in Vancouver’s downtown east side. A HUGE thank you to our partners BlanketBC, Paulo's Pizza (Richmond), MEC, and all of our wonderful donors.
A big shout out to our sponsor MEC Canada and all the wonderful donors that helped us raise $1,500 for our neighbourhood Give a Sleeping Bag to the Homeless drive. Bags will be handed out this weekend in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.
This year, it was record cold temperatures in Vancouver. If you want to help the homeless, please donate to my fundraiser, "It's cold! Give a sleeping bag to the homeless." Click to Donate: https://t.co/CsZAMeqG1I #GoFundMe
