When Drs are telling parents that “it’s just viral” they are only hearing “it’s not covid”. They are not even registering that covid is a virus. Anyway. I learned how to crochet so I’m going to go make granny squares until my hands fall apart. Happy Tuesday.
This is what we are breathing Saint John! Our hepa filter just stopped. It's cleaned regularly. Have never seen this much particulate. More evidence for the @cityofsaintjohn in its efforts to get Health and Environment to take action on our air quality. @InfoAMSJ@GaryCrossman1
Hey. I want you to know, if you mask despite all the opposition coming against you, you are a god damn super hero. Doing the right thing is hard sometimes, but you're doing the right thing, you ARE the smartest person in the room, and I am proud of you. Keep it up! #MaskUp
Current infection levels are as bad as when schools last closed in January 2022.
But schools are open, masks aren’t required (or, mostly, worn), ventilation hasn’t been improved, filtration is actively prohibited, and few have been recently vaccinated.
Good plan. A+. No notes.
While @premierbhiggs is on his PR/photo-op tour, what #COVID19 updates has Premier Higgs delivered to NB and parents, school is returning soon.
Is ignoring science protecting kids?
Canada ranks 81st for kid’s rights?

Things are bad in NB schools right now. I've been talking to parents and classroom HEPAs are banned. CR boxes are banned. Air Flex fans are banned. Even *personal filters* are banned. Kids have had their personal HEPAs confiscated and parents warned not to send them.
EDIT: I have learned that this is not every school. Check with your child’s school to see if “incentives” are something that they are talking to them about.
@HeritageRancher @nb_covid_info Unfortunately, they are solidifying this by putting an attendance policy in place. There is no such thing as an “excused absence” unless it is directly school related (sports, school trips). Doctors visits or being sick will unfortunately work against them.
@GenYInterrupted Overheard in an NB highschool today, when referencing the new attendance policy, “things are back to normal, covid and all that stuff is done”. Super. Well educated. So glad these people are in charge of important decisions. 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
The best mask is the one people will wear. Yes, even if that’s a KN95 with heaven forbid, ear loops. You’re not converting anyone by telling them their affordable, accessible and not the worst mask isn’t good enough.
I’m officially the last staff member standing for masks. The last support staff member just stopped wearing theirs today. I feel sad/frustrated but mostly I feel lonely… extra lonely today.
No one told anyone at Vitalité about asymptomatic or pré-symptomatic spread I guess.
100% of the spread in my house was pre symptomatic, as was the case for almost everyone I know.
Tell me, how much does it cost to get someone to sell out like this?
Preschooler after pick from daycare yesterday: Mom, all my friends at school keep getting sick because they don't wear a mask
Me: Oh? And you're not sick like them?
Preschooler *laughs*: Nooo!
Folks, a preschooler totally gets it 💁♀️
It’s incredibly irresponsible and unethical that our health authorities are actively making not only their own facilities MORE DANGEROUS but the community around them too
So. We have a cardiology appointment at the DECH next week. And anyone who fails the self screening is not only allowed to be there, but told to go to clinic? With unbelievably vulnerable children?
