This is totally unacceptable in football.

When I watched that challenge, my first thought was simple: how was that not reviewed properly? Incidents that could endanger an opponent must be treated seriously, regardless of who the player is.

The game cannot have one set of rules for Messi and Argentina and another for everyone else. If VAR exists to correct clear mistakes, then supporters have every right to ask why no intervention came in this situation.

What disappoints fans is not only the decision itself, but the inconsistency. If another player had made the same challenge, many would expect an immediate red card and endless debate across the football world.

Football is bigger than any individual. The rules must be applied equally, whether you're a young player making your debut or one of the greatest players in history.

Consistency, fairness and accountability are what protect the integrity of our sport.
