@MariusMpunkt @LordsManor @SWillamowski I get that and in theory it´s true, in reality it´s not that easy though which you only realize when you make a shingle roof starting from a tree or a clay tile roof starting from clay.
I did a little bit of both in Guédelon and that made me realize why not every farm had tiles.

@LordsManor @SWillamowski The joists are really well done thats true, i am just always a bit sceptical about some things we (and even some historians) assume about details in periods of the middle ages were we are missing decent quantities of evidence.
But it´s a game after all you are doing very well.

@LordsManor @SWillamowski Clay tiles were very expensive during most of the middle ages, from what i´ve read they only became common for normal houses in the late middle ages when some towns made them mandatory.
For most private buildings it was wood shingles, thatch/straw roofing or sometimes slate.
