.@Afidep's Macroeconomic Policy for Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) project, in partnership with Kenya’s State Department for Gender and Affirmative Action (SDfGAA),is hosting a two day gender-responsive budgeting (GRB) training for county officials, civil society organisations, NGOs, private sector actors, and women representatives in Taita Taveta County, Kenya.
AFIDEP’s @mariahmwami , introduced AFIDEP and explained the aim of the workshop, which is to strengthen the capacity of county governments and other stakeholders in GRB and the incorporation of WEE strategies into the five-year County Integrated Development Plans (CIDPs) and Annual Development Plans (ADPs).
Other facilitators included Dr Eliud Mutwiri, Amos Orumi from SDfGAA, and @bitok_amos from the @KeTreasury National Treasury.
@TaitaTaveta006 County has shown commendable leadership in championing gender equity.
Through this initiative, AFIDEP and SDfGAA are investing in meaningful, practical, and sustainable capacity strengthening to ensure that women’s contributions, both paid and unpaid, are finally recognised and valued in Kenya’s development agenda.

On 26 Nov 2026, @NCTC_Kenya met with Spain’s @guardiacivil for a consultative session.
The engagement reviewed achievements from the first phase of the CT Public Spaces Project, highlighting success stories, shared lessons, and the practical insights shaping the next stage of implementation. The teams also mapped out priorities for 2026 and explored areas for deeper collaboration.
The CT Public Spaces Project continues to be a vital platform for strengthening capacity, exchanging international best practices, improving exposure to diverse security approaches, and jointly identifying and addressing gaps in safeguarding Kenya’s public spaces.
