In the long term I don’t see how developed economy stocks (outside maybe China) go up in the next 9 months. Inflation being suppressed through SPR and likely sticky. Even if steady decline Fed won’t print for a year due to 70s model. Too much debt to be unwound. #economy#stocks
@Cernovich Too much $ printing causes way more inequality since 90s. Go watch Married with Children about a guy that works a minimum wage job but has a large house in Chicago, can go on vacations etc. That would never work today.
@ZssBecker Agreed. Seems like the main weakness of the US is that it exports it’s inflation abroad a lot. If countries moved away from the dollar, it would destroy the US. Also the extreme materialistic greed that drives the economy can also turn in on itself reflexively in a downturn.
I wish I knew what the feeling was like for Sears in the 1970s. Built the tallest building in history, were working on an early internet with IBM. 450,000 employees. Wonder if they have the kind of mythic invincibility aura that tech cos have today #sears#tech
