They are 108 Irish children who survived the initial assault on their lives, only to be denied the ordinary medical care, warmth, nutrition, and comfort that the law demands for any newborn in our hospitals. Instead, under current protocols, they were left to die without intervention.

We told the Irish people in 2018 that repealing the Eighth would open the door to precisely this nightmare: a two-tier system where some children are cherished while others deemed "unwanted" or "non-viable" are quietly allowed to perish.

Do not talk about mother and baby homes when hospitals are becoming a coin toss between life saving facilities and butcher shops where newborns can simply be labeled as "unwanted" and therefore be left to die, screaming in agony for help that never comes.
