The group which votes most reliably are those over 65. They have given themselves:
- UBI (SSI)
- Single payer healthcare (Medicare)
- Rent control (Prop 13, SF, NYC)
- Wealth transfers aplenty
- Vastly over represented in government
When you vote, the government works for you.
“Didn’t have a problem”? Your state is a criminal sanctuary for millions of illegal alien invaders, cartel killers, foreign terrorists, transnational gangs and insurrectionist mobs. Huge swaths of the city where I was born now resemble failed third world nations. A ruptured, balkanized society of strangers. When our courageous ICE officers, fighting to rescue your communities, came under violent organized attack you and the LA Mayor left them, unforgivably, to fend for themselves. When the rioters swarmed, you handed over your streets, willingly. You still refuse to arrest and prosecute the arsonists, seditionists and insurrectionists. This Administration is fighting to save the city and the citizens you have left to struggle and suffer.
.@AmericanExpress may have the laziest and worst run marketing department of any large company.
I have had an Amex Gold card for 20 years.
In that time, I have also NEVER been approached for any kind of upsell, cross sell or reactivation.
This is despite spending habits that, in some months, in some years, were quite meaningful and diverse.
It’s almost as if they have ZERO understanding of their customers.
Net result is ZERO loyalty.
In the last few years, I’ve mostly migrated to using the @Mastercard Apple Card and the umpteen Ramp cards I’ve been issued.
Seems like a big fail that will eventually catch up with them.
@_rotimia This whole “permission structure” theory of politics was also soundly debunked by the election…voting is private, people vote for who they genuinely want
I have a lot of friends both in New York and Washington DC at investment banks, commercial banks, hedge funds, pension funds, etc. that get face time with the administration.
They are almost all unanimously telling me something similar and very disturbing.
Regardless of the policies the administration is attempting to implement, the actual level of competence (especially amongst lower/career staffers) is simply not there.
They say that this is a stark contrast from 2017, when Trump first came in and largely just left Obama’s infrastructure in place at the Treasury, IRS, Commerce, Trade, etc.
This time around, Trump came in and purged the lifelong employees at these places and replaced them with people he owed favors to on his farewell tour.
People that are just simply unqualified to be doing these gloryless jobs.
Regardless of the merits of the actual policy changes, nearly everyone I speak to is saying the incompetency, lack of sophistication, lack of substance, and the elementary level understanding of the global economy and global capital markets, is stunning them on a daily basis.
I cannot get into specifics here, out of respect for my friends privacies, but the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and Bloomberg have all begun reporting on this open secret in depth in the past couple of days.
Feel free to cross examine me with their reporting!
@ceejifi My hot take…Charles and IOG have had many years to figure out the adoption/UX challenges to make Cardano successful. Either he doesn’t know how to do it, or he isn’t capable of it. It’s a shame because I was a big believer too, but now it feels like a lost battle/product
Musk made a huge move forward as his time in DOGE/White House now winds down and he will be laser focused on Tesla again. Musk finally read the room and made a pivot which helps remove the black cloud over Tesla. New chapter begins. Raising PT to $350 with autonomous the focus
