Admittedly, most of the reason why I don't check twitter is because my opinion of my work remains very low. So, I try to keep to myself these days to keep my motivation functional.

@hxdlab I wouldn't say that I'm redoing panels for this reason in particular. Usually when I redo panels it's because in the end the composition, posing, narrative aspect, etc, didn't work the way I thought it would and requires revision. The deeper elements come more naturally I think!

Had a hard time finishing this page because this was the heaviest I've leaned into the cultural elements I want to include. I never feel like I'm doing them justice or making something quality enough to read.

But I will do the best I can.

One of the most pleasing things about this comic so far has been crafting the dynamic between Asu and Z'ahme. I find that they're both at their most charming when they're together. Reads L-R!

@hxdlab I'd say it's portions of both, since I tend to put a lot of thought into both what's being drawn and finding a way of drawing it that feels "right" for the story and its tone. It's something that I'm ultimately still attempting to balance, especially since resources are slim.

A few selections of some of my favorite Asu moments! She's a young, eager spiritualist and medicine woman who serves the protector spirit Olumdawe—and very much a foil to the other main character.

I have great fun drawing her expressions!

I often worry my comic (am I allowed to call it a manga? Not sure) doesn't look good. Comparing the pages I've made recently to those I've made previously has helped with keeping my morale up. Comparing the completed sequences will be interesting.

@Deli_Mage Thanks Deli! Yeah, I've actually got a whole chapter completed now. I'm very happy! It could look a little bit better but at the very least I can feel myself improving as I go along. Once I have the first 3-4 ready to go I'll hopefully be able to start posting it in places!

The longer I do it, the more satisfying working on comics becomes.
