When you feel overwhelmed, don’t panic.
Return to the basics.
Pray one line.
Light a candle.
Talk to someone.
Walk outside.
Go to adoration.
Read one Psalm.
Grace often starts small.
As HUD Secretary, I used to say a city is either growing or dying.
It can take 4 years to get a building permit in NYC; I built LaGuardia airport in 4 years.
NYC is about development, growth, entrepreneurship. That is the NYC that will thrive again when I'm Mayor
Merry Christmas!
As we stand together in front of this vibrant mural at Wyndwood Miami, we're reminded that art is a beautiful expression of love and unity, much like our family. Wishing the very best for you and your loved ones. Claudia, Pedro, Beatriz & @ricardorossello ♥️👨👩👧👦
The current political landscape presents a unique convergence of circumstances. President Trump enters his second term unburdened by reelection concerns and, notably, less beholden to traditional Republican power structures than any modern president. This independence, combined with his demonstrated willingness to buck conservative orthodoxy on issues like infrastructure and trade, creates an opening for meaningful bipartisan reform.
As I wrote in “The Reformer’s Dilemma,” “John W. Kingdon’s concept of ‘policy windows’ illuminates the fleeting opportunities in the policy-making process where conditions align, enabling advocates to advance their issues or effect changes in policy direction. These windows are transient, emerging from a confluence of problems, potential solutions, and political circumstances.” The window for transformative change is vanishingly small – I would argue within the first 60 days of an administration. After that, political gravity reasserts itself, especially as midterm elections approach.

Deeply honored to announce that 'The Reformer's Dilemma' has been selected as a finalist in the 21st Annual 'Best Book' Awards by American Book Fest! This recognition means so much because it validates what we've always known - that stories of reform, resilience, and the pursuit of equality resonate far beyond Puerto Rico's shores. Through this book, I aimed to share not just my experiences, but crucial lessons about the challenges of creating meaningful change in our democracy. To everyone who has supported this journey, who has engaged with these ideas, who believes in the power of reform - this recognition belongs to all of us.
Congratulations to President-elect @RealDonaldTrump on a convincing victory and on assembling a team to solve some of the nation's biggest problems with unity and compassion.
US Citizens from Puerto Rico can't vote on the Federal Level, but today we are voting for our future. Statehood is on the ballot. It will be the 4th time in the past 12 years that Statehood will be chosen by the people of Puerto Rico. I ask our federally elected leaders to make this a priority in the coming cycle. End the unfinished business of American democracy and give 3.2 million disenfranchised US citizens the right to vote. #PRStatehood
Today is the day we make our voices heard — Your participation matters! Get out there, stand in line if you have to, and cast your ballot. After voting, lets switch gears to foster unity. The future is in our hands. #GoVote
Words shape futures. I don’t speak from a place of theory, I speak from a place of experience. Leadership’s responses to derogatory comments matter more than ever. In this piece by @GuardianUS I urged the matter to be directly addressed and that New Washington Leadership champion a path to Puerto Rican statehood.
