With more results being counted in Wayne, Elissa has taken a lead of almost 20,000 votes & our margin will continue to grow as the remaining ballots are processed. When all the votes are counted, we’re confident that Elissa will have been elected as Michigan’s next U.S. Senator.
THANK YOU, MICHIGAN!!
Thank you to everyone who cast their ballot in this primary election – and to everyone who knocked a door, talked to voters, or chipped in a few bucks to fuel this campaign. I’m thrilled to officially be your Democratic Nominee for Senate. And for those who may not have voted for me, I look forward to earning your support.
The best way to know how I’d fight for Michigan in the Senate is to ask the people I represent now. I’ve been lucky to serve a diverse group of constituents & leaders from faith, labor, business & activist communities who care just as deeply about Michigan as I do. I’m grateful for their support.
Michigan deserves a Senator who will show up and listen. It’s the only way to truly represent our interests in the Senate. That’s why I started this campaign with a listening tour, beginning in Detroit & Flint, to meet with religious leaders, union members, small business owners, and everything in between.
Comparing gun safety measures to the mass extermination of 6 million people is hateful & ignorant, and it comes from party leaders who are out of ideas & catering to the fringe of the fringe. Delete it, apologize, and figure out what kind of party you want to be.
Today, I’m announcing my run to be Michigan’s next U.S. Senator.
We need a new generation of leaders that thinks differently, works harder, and never forgets that we are *public servants*
One of my fondest memories was introducing @madeleine, our first female Secretary of State, to the Michigan paczki tradition after she finished a talk at MSU.
This year, after a tough week, my team and I went for the fancy ones from @groovy_donuts.
"I am filled with rage that we have to have another press conference talking about children being killed in our schools," @RepSlotkin says after the Michigan State University mass shooting yesterday, after one at a Michigan high school in late 2021.
Today is Lunar New Year Day.
The first thing I read this morning was that at least 10 people are dead after a gunman shot up a dance hall during a Lunar New Year event in Monterey Park, CA. Police don’t have anyone in custody.
My heart is with those families.
What a privilege it's been to be back out on the trail with @ReverendWarnock to capture the hard work, the hope, and the joy.
Joy will always be my #1 rule of road.
