something i've had to get used to in this era is every day there's at least one thing that makes me question whether to be more offended by its stupidity or its wickedness.
The evangelical world needs leaders who embody holiness, not hubris; who grow disciples, not groom sycophants; who see themselves as naked before Christ, not robed in the prestige of their platforms; who know that when success becomes an idol that bullying becomes a sacrament.
Gospel: Today when Jesus sees the great crowds, his heart is "moved with pity" (Mk 6). But the Greek word used is stronger: ἐσπλαγχνίσθη (esplanchnisthē). Jesus feels this "in his guts." This is how we are called to feel when we see anyone who is lost, excluded, or marginalized.
