This post is a wonderful example of how to create this nonsensical hatred between ICE & EV.
Both have a space in this world.
The Automotive Industry needs choice, what’s wrong with that?
Don’t like it, don’t buy it.
Simple.
The one on the right is my van.
The one on the left sits higher than my van, weighs more than my van, has less storage space than a VW Golf, weighs around 1000kgs more than a Golf and almost 700kgs more than our own EV.
With the high risk of these burning down an airport carpark in Luton, their horrific emissions, reliability, fuel economy and weight, it’s a wonder why people buy them.
3. Less space than a van.
Yes, as it’s an SUV, not a van.
It has rear seats…saying that, the Hard Top (Commercial variant) would get closer, but still not as much space as a van. Obviously.

A lot to unpack here.
1. Of course a Defender is heavier, worse on emissions and has poorer fuel consumption than a Golf.
It’s a Defender and not a Golf.
Much the same as an X5, Cayenne, Land Cruiser & Tiguan are all heavier than a Golf.

@AutoInfatuation If it is a PHEV, you’ll be able to Rapid Charge it as it’s one of a few PHEVs that accept DC charging.
Advice, use the car’s Nav to best manage battery performance, it has Predictive Energy Optimisation…only with its own nav though.
@AutoPap@timoldland@TomBlackmore90 Might be worth checking fitment…might sound silly but the brakes a HUGE on OCTA and may not fit, plus there is a specific tyre diameter that is different to core Defender.
@AutoPap As you know, it’s way more than the engine @AutoPap …the 6D Dynamics will totally change the drive of a core Defender.
Also…do it, one of the last V8’s! Why not eh!
Hi @BandQ@bandq_help
Still waiting for a response regarding my order…originally placed on 26/06, still no product or refund.
You say one thing, the delivery company say something different. I still have no product.
Can I PLEASE have my money back?
@BandQ
1 phone call with a promised return of call. 2 emails with a promise of a return of message/refund.
Nothing yet. This is weeks later now.
You cancelled my order instead of delivering it. I’m now £361 out of pocket and no product.
Any chance of my money back please?
