Both have a space in this world.

The Automotive Industry needs choice, what’s wrong with that?

3. Less space than a van.

Yes, as it’s an SUV, not a van.

It has rear seats…saying that, the Hard Top (Commercial variant) would get closer, but still not as much space as a van. Obviously.

A lot to unpack here.

1. Of course a Defender is heavier, worse on emissions and has poorer fuel consumption than a Golf.

It’s a Defender and not a Golf.

Much the same as an X5, Cayenne, Land Cruiser & Tiguan are all heavier than a Golf.

Well, not really. PHEVs have pressurised fuel tanks, you don’t need to do that with a charge flap.

@AutoInfatuation If it is a PHEV, you’ll be able to Rapid Charge it as it’s one of a few PHEVs that accept DC charging.

Advice, use the car’s Nav to best manage battery performance, it has Predictive Energy Optimisation…only with its own nav though.

@AutoPap @timoldland @TomBlackmore90 Might be worth checking fitment…might sound silly but the brakes a HUGE on OCTA and may not fit, plus there is a specific tyre diameter that is different to core Defender.
