EXCLUSIVE: A conservative legal group is telling NYPD officers they can contact ICE directly — regardless of Mayor Mamdani's sanctuary city rules — releasing a 35-page guide that argues federal law supersedes local policies blocking cooperation with immigration authorities.

America First Legal's guide cites Section 1373 of federal immigration law, which bars state and local governments from restricting officers who want to share immigration-status information with federal authorities. The group is also offering confidential legal representation to any officer who faces retaliation for cooperating with ICE.
